2008

Okay, so here's my first blog for this year. I know what you're thinking, gheez Maria, where have you been. Well, I've been in Hermiston visiting Shane several times now, shopping, hanging out, having breakthru, getting stabbed with a sword. Hopefully I will make assistant manager at work-considering that they are firing the current one tomorrow. Sucks for him. Oh well. Life's been pretty good...except that there seems like there is so many things that I have to wait for at present. I'll make it though. Thanks for all the prayer and support.

So...

Rascal Flatts is sexy...just in case ya'll didn't know. And for those of you who don't like counrtry, it's not twangy at all, or steel-guitared. In fact, I'd venture to say that it's the least twangy.

Even if twang is sexy.

"Cool Thing"
We were wrapped up in a blanket
red wine buzz kickin' in
a little Sarasota moonlight
driftwood fire burnin'
she was on break from Ohio State
and I was down there sellin'
parasail rides
just another summer day
till I strapped her in and
watched her fly
[CHORUS]Talk about a sunset
all I could see were purples and reds
and her silhouette wavin' goodbye
she didn't come there lookin' for love
and the cool thing was
neither did I and neither did I
She dipped down in the water
as I slowed down holdin' that line
wet t-shirt on a two piece
we ditched that boat and
hung outside
and we walked ankle deep in ocean
you know that place where
footprints disappear
just like that evenin' she drove away
it'll be burned in my mind for a million years
[REPEAT CHORUS TWICE]

This song...

I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car
He's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel
The other on my heart
I look around, turn the radio down
He says baby is something wrong?
I say nothing I was just thinking how we don't have a song

And he says...[Chorus:]Our song is the slamming screen door,
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
Cause it's late and your mama don't know
Our song is the way you laugh
The first date "man, I didn't kiss her, and I should have"
And when I got home ... before I said amen
Asking God if he could play it again

I was walking up the front porch steps after everything that day
Had gone all wrong and been trampled on
And lost and thrown away
Got to the hallway, well on my way to my lovin' bed
I almost didn't notice all the roses
And the note that said...

[Repeat Chorus]I've heard every album, listened to the radio
Waited for something to come along
That was as good as our song...
Cause our song is the slamming screen door
Sneaking out late, tapping on his window
When we're on the phone and he talks real slow
Cause it's late and his mama don't know
Our song is the way he laughs
The first date "man, I didn't kiss him, and I should have"
And when I got home, before I said amen
Asking God if he could play it again

I was riding shotgun with my hair undoneIn the front seat of his car
I grabbed a pen and an old napkin
And I... wrote down our song

just life

Oh so I had my first day of work at Taco Del Mar today. Fun fun. Not. It's okay though. At least it's something. It's just a lame entry level job. Oh well. I don't know why life has to be so hard right now. I miss my buddies in Gresham, especially Crystal and Eddie. And Shane being gone. It's just so hard. Aarg. Hopefully it'll get better, I have a feeling though, that that won't be until we're married.

Well, goodnight for now.

a hurting heart

I cannot wait to live in the one and amazing one horse town of Hermiston with Shane. Life shall be so much better. Dean-the pastor Shane is under is such an amazing person and preacher.

I need and love Shane soooooo much. Someday we shall be together again, and soon. Yay! I was able to visit him this past weekend. It was good, but saying goodbye is getting harder and harder. It's only been a month, but it feels like forever. My heart longs for the day when we're together forever. I want to always be at his side helping him, together following the will of God for our lives.

I just hope this happens sooner than later. Cuz well, apparently Ive turned out to be one weak heart. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take, before I just secretly move there:) He really is the best and he has such an amazing heart that constantly longs to follow Christ.
